The principle of solidarity and the challenges of system and social (dis)integration: in anticipation of the new EU rules on migration and asylum

Associate Prof. Adrijana Martinović, PhD, Marko Mrakovčić, PhD and Nikola Petrović, PhD are the authors of the paper “The principle of solidarity and the challenges of system and social (dis)integration: in anticipation of the new EU rules on migration and asylum“ published in the proceedings of the International Scientific Conference “EU at the crossroads – ways to preserve democracy and rule of law“.

The paper explores conceptual issues regarding the mechanism of solidarity around the distribution of migratory pressure among the EU member states, which was proposed following a political agreement reached by the European Parliament and the European Council in the New Pact on Migration and Asylum in December 2023.
