Project description

The ISSP project aims to ensure the continuity of implementing the ISSP research in Croatia, which has been carried out at the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb (ISRZ) since 2005. The project will include four modules of the ISSP research: Family and Gender Roles, National Identities and Citizenship, Digital Societies and Work Orientations. These modules will enable a more in-depth understanding of the Croatian society in the domains of family, gender roles, national identity, digitalization and labour, by also providing a comparative approach to these topics. Besides the comparison with other countries implementing the ISSP research, the project also provides the analysis of changes in the Croatian society in a ten-year period, when the mentioned modules were previously carried out in Croatia (2012, 2013 and 2015). On the other hand, within the Digital Societies Module it is for the first time that a completely new domain is explored. Besides a direct impact on an increase in scientific productivity, ISSP also has a broader social significance, because the collected data will be publically available at the web-site of the GESIS Data Archive for Social Sciences. Thus, the project has an impact on the broader scientific community, and decision makers, reporters, male and female students, as well as other stakeholders in the broader public.

The project has been implemented at the ISRZ since 2005. Since 1 January 2024 it has been financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan under the NextGenerationEU Fund of the European Commission.
