Published: 20.04.2022.
The Institute for Social Research in Zagreb is a member of the Committee for the evaluation of the cities that applied for the awarding of the “City for Youth” certificate. Besides the Institute, the Committee consists of other organizations and institutions that are active in the field of youth work: Central State Office for Demography and Youth, Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes, Croatian Youth Network, Union of Societies Our children and Association of Cities in the Republic of Croatia.
In order to obtain the Certificate, cities need to comply with at least 50% of the criteria related to local youth policies in each of the eight thematic areas (Participation, Demographic incentives and measures, Mobility, Health and sport, Youth work and culture, Education and Informing) and the total percentage depending on the size of the population (up to 10 thousand inhabitants – 60%; between 10 and 35 thousand – 70%; more than 35 thousand – 80%).
This year three Croatian cities acquired the Certificate. The Certificate awardees for the period 2022 – 2025 are Križevci, Poreč and Pregrada. Our sincere congratulations!
The project leader for the Institute is Marita Grubišić-Čabo and the project team member is Marko Kovačić, PhD.
