Published: 04.04.2023.
The Institute, in collaboration with A1 Croatia and the City of Split, is developing STeam - an innovative extracurricular activity aimed at the strengthening of aspirations and empowering of girls towards STEM professions. STeam is primarily focused on girls, yet open to boys as well, and will be carried out in a couple of elementary schools in Split beginning this autumn. The aim is to develop interests and competencies for working in various domains of science, engineering and technology. STeam will provide girls with an opportunity to actively explore and solve open issues, combine science with arts and contemporary technologies, meet scientists, engineers, innovators and researchers, and to get acquainted with the work of various institutions in the local community.
STeam is developed at the ISRZ within the A1 project STEMfemme Jr., and is financed with 55,415.45 EUR, while the implementation in schools is supported by the City of Split.
