Ivan Tranfić, PhD held a lecture at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb on the interviewing of radicals

Ivan Tranfić, PhD held a lecture titled “Interviewing Radicals: Approach to Fieldwork, Ethical and Reflexive Questions“.  The lecture was organized by the Section for Qualitative Research Methods of the Croatian Sociological Association at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb on 3 April 2025.

In his lecture, Ivan Tranfić, PhD opened the questions of trust and doubt in the relation between researcher and respondent, ethical dilemmas in working with ideologically distant actors, and the challenges of balancing between a critical distance and the need to establish communication. He presented his own experience in conducting interviews with representatives of  antigender, religious and radical right civil society organizations, civil initiatives and political parties in Croatia, Serbia and Bulgaria.
